Anyway, he looks at me and says "You've lost some weight, a significant amount of weight?" I told him Yup, I've lost 55 pounds.. (was 60 ? but now I'm strength training ? ) ... and have kept it off for 2 years! Soooooooo, now the part that I'm pissed about: His response "No one should lose that much weight, that's not good for you." Huh? What? So I tell him that I'm now completely in the normal range. His response was that all those ranges are not correct. I proceed to tell him that my doctor is pleased, I've discarded medications and that I can run a half marathon... all things that before my new fitness lifestyle would not have been possible. Then I allowed the subject to be changed and never talked about it again....
Not so much as a "good for you" or "you look good" or "wow, running a half marathon or running in general is an accomplishment" Nope, nothing... except in his infinite wisdom and in complete disagreement with the medical community and my own personal physician all I got was "No one should lose that much weight." I realize in his probable sit-on-the-couch lifestyle that he may not really even understand what healthy means or that he may be making excuses for himself or maybe even that he may have felt intimidated by me... I probably won't see him for another 5 years so it's fine, but still I am completely pissed!
