Been keeping track of running and biking on MapMyFitness on my phone (Galaxy S5). Works very well. *Always* syncs when the garmin watch didn't. Seems to be pretty accurate when compared with other GPS systems. The Phone is a little clunky to bring around... Too big to wear on the arm, but fits well (but snuggly) in my waist pack, or I carry for runs with others (who want frequent feedback). I set it to leave the screen display on all the time so I don't have to swipe and password when I want to see it. After a 2 hour bike ride with the screen on the entire time, the battery was down to 30%. I think that's pretty good.
But enough of technology! Looking at the above snapshot , I think its pretty cool. On weekdays, I've been keeping it somewhere between 2 and 3 miles, running at lunch. Been mostly running with Joanne and we've been keeping a slower pace for her to work on endurance and hills. When I'm alone, I work on my own speed or endurance. On weekends I've added a bike ride which I absolutely love... and Brian has started going too! Fantastic! Some PRs in this period:
I'm not tracking all the group workouts I'm doing here... or the entire calendar would be filled haha! ~ and I like to see just the runs and rides here. But for completeness, I'm still doing something every weekday including Total Body workout. H.I.I.T, Core, Zumba, Pilates and Yoga. |
